My internship at ECCA has been filled with new knowledge and hands on experiences that I believe every person should be able to work through. Being able to see the way a business runs in a normal day and how our classroom environment relates to it as well as seeing what academic skills and soft skills are necessary for a successful job in programming.

The computer programming and cyber world have many different career pathways as well as growing knowledge. Being able to see what job titles look like as well as how they contribute to the workplace and work with others was very informational.

I believe that soft skills are very necessary for a future in any job, but being able to describe your work as a programer is just as important and not as individualized as you may think. It’s always interesting to see how what we learn in the classroom applies to real-world scenarios and being able to communicate, being flexible, and picking up work are a valued skills in workplaces that we work on improving in the classroom.

I am grateful for not only the opportunities to grow at the Erie County Technical School, but to be involved in real world. By seeing what opportunities are out there I was able to determine what type of job my future would like to hold. While I am not sure about my future in programming, I am very excited to try out and learn more about the cyber world and social engineering. This helped me to narrow down my ideal job and know what information to focus on moving forward.

Comment Any Questions 🙂
