Mosh’s guide to learning git consist of 5 sections of videos amounting to about an hour of content per section. The videos build on themselves, starting off by instructing you how to set up Gitbash, GitKraken, and VS code. I watched these videos by following along and taking in depth notes, which helped me understand the concepts that he described.

After the first introductory segment, Mosh started to write code in Git and encouraged the viewer to follow along. The rest of the videos involved listening and coding along with Mosh.

After completing the video series, I can say that I understand the basic principles and concepts of working with Git. While the video series was extremely helpful and easy to follow, it was unnecessary for me to take detailed notes and follow along to a tee. As long as you pay attention and focus to the videos, you can obtain as much information as I did without the hassle of diligent notetaking. You would also be able to finish the tutorial series a lot quicker if you are not concerned with pausing to copy his code and write down definitions and concepts. Overall, I will quickly forget the syntax that is necessary to write in the console and will need to look it up anyways. While I will still have an understanding of the concepts of Git, I will have an equal understanding of someone who has only watched the videos without notes.
